On arrival at the car park please follow signs for the Yoga Garden, or walk through the antler arch - the sauna is a little further along the banks of the pond.
-
Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your booking to allow time for a quick briefing and to get changed if necessary (although we recommend arriving in your swimwear/dryrobe/dressing gown). No one wants to waste precious sauna time!
We apologise if you are late, we cannot extend the session as we will likely have another booking arriving.
-
Bring your swimwear, 2 towels (1 for sitting on for hygiene reasons in the sauna and 1 for drying off).
Water bottle to rehydrate during sessions.
Slip on shoes like flip flops and a bathrobe/swimrobe if you wish.
We do not have warm showers so please come wearing something comfortable to travel home in.
If possible arrive ready to sauna!
-
We have a changing tent with a small amount of storage.
Please bring minimal belongings and no valuables, as we are unable to supervise belongings, and cannot be held responsible for loss/theft.
-
This depends on your booking.
Our community sauna sessions are open to all. Do not fear though, we've found the sauna a great place to make new friends. We allow a maximum of 5 to these session.
Private Hire: Hire the whole sauna (book all 5 seats) and you have the whole sauna to yourself! We allow up to 6 into a private booking.
-
There are some medical reasons why sauna may not be safe for you.
Everyone attending the sauna is required to read and agree to follow the terms of use.
Please read this carefully especially relating to any medical conditions and pregnancy.
-
If you want to change your booking please cancel it via the confirmation email as long as it is 48 hours before your sauna appointment.
We are sorry we cannot offer a refund after 48 hours as it is often difficult to resell a seat at short notice.
-
We are a small business so we have to have strict cancellation policy.
Cancellations for saunas need to be actioned via your confirmation email - more than 48 hours before for a full refund (minus a £1 transaction fee).
Our Events have a different policy - we need 5 days notice for a refund minus transaction fee.
We are sorry we cannot offer a refund after this time. You are welcome to transfer your booking to a friend.
If a storm/heavy rain/wind is forecast we reserve the right to close the sauna due to safety concerns.
Full refunds are issued for any weather/mechanical/staffing issue cancellations.
Occasionally the wild swimming pond is closed by the Knepp estate, for maintenance or water safety reasons. If the pond is closed, we endeavour to let you know before so you can reschedule. We cannot offer refunds as this is beyond our control and we offer an alternative way to cool of between sauna rounds.
-
The Knepp estate allow our sauna customers to use their beautiful natural swimming pond.
This is used entirely at your own risk as it is unsupervised. You are responsible for your own safety. It is advisable always to use the pond accompanied and to shower afterwards.
The pond water is tested weekly for safety. Occasionally the pond may be closed for maintenance or if tests show water quality is poor - in these circumstances we inform our customers but we do not offer a refund, reschedule only.
-
Unfortunately our insurance does not cover children under 16 to use the sauna.
-
We ask everyone to sit on a towel in the sauna. The sauna benches are washed down after each sauna session, using natural products (chemical free sauna). We use the ‘bake and breath’ to deep cleanse the sauna every day.
-
We have special rates if you would like to hire the sauna for your retreat day or event.
Please email us on kindredsauna@gmail.com to find out more.
-
Our sauna is hosted by the Knepp Wilding campsite, no dogs are allowed own the campsite, although they are welcome on the trails and walks around the Knepp Estate.
The campsite is for children over 12 only, so we regret that we cannot allow people to bring groups of friends or children with them to their sauna. Please just bring yourselves to the sauna.
